What is a children's university?

Children's Universities are about exploring our world in an engaging and supportive way. Many old and new institutions across Europe and around the world have opened their doors to children, and a variety of different programs have been developed to help children gain knowledge about science and the people behind it. Children's Universities are important for facilitating communication between science and children. Children's universities start with a question and end the program with a question.

What Is Not a Children's University?

It Is Not a Higher Education Institution:

A children's university is not an academic institution that provides education at the university level. Here, activities focused on exploration, research, and learning are offered to children, but children do not receive a university diploma.

It Is Not an Official School System:

Children's universities do not replace schools or public schools. They are not associated with the school system required for a child to complete their official education (such as primary school, middle school).

They Are Not Institutions Solely for Teaching Classes:

Children's universities are not limited to just teaching classes; they make the learning process fun and creative for children with various interactive activities, scientific workshops, nature trips, games, and explorations.

They Are Institutions That Do Not Cater to Every Age Group:

Children's universities generally cater to children in specific age groups. Therefore, they may not be suitable for children of every age group.

Our mission

Supporting children's social, cultural, and scientific development, bringing together children from different age groups with people who have different backgrounds in science, supporting the sharing of scientific knowledge in a way that fosters creativity and creative thinking, and making science and art tangible for children in a new and engaging way.

Children's University is an innovative educational concept designed to provide children with an engaging and interactive learning experience outside of traditional classrooms. These programs consist of a wide variety of activities, workshops, and events designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and promote a love of learning in children. Children's Universities aim to prepare children for future academic life and careers by developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills through hands-on activities, experiments, field trips, and projects.  Children's Universities promote inclusivity, accessibility, and equality in education by reaching out to children from different socio-economic backgrounds. Children's Universities play a significant role in inspiring a passion for lifelong learning and encouraging children to be confident, knowledgeable, and versatile individuals ready to face the challenges that await their communities.

Our Vision

The primary aim is to increase children's interest and curiosity in science and to create awareness while enabling them to get to know the university and meet the entertaining aspects of science and art, strengthening the university's ties with the community.
